Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology may offer training for students who qualify for the education benefit programs listed below.
Eligibility for these programs is determined by outside agencies, not by the college. In most cases, students are referred by the agency that manages the program.
- Veterans Assistance: Some TCAT programs may be approved for VA education benefits. To see which programs are currently approved, use theGI Bill® Comparison Tool. If your program is not listed, contact the Student Services Office.
- Vocational Rehabilitation: Tennessee’s vocational rehabilitation program may help students with physical, developmental, cognitive or emotional disabilities, as well as other health-related conditions. - Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act: The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) helps job seekers access employment, education, training and support services. Eligible TCAT students may receive help with books, supplies, transportation and childcare. For more information, visit the WIOA Overview.
- Trade Adjustment Assistance: Trade Adjustment Assistance is a federal program that may help workers who lose their jobs or have reduced hours or wages due to foreign labor or imports. Some TCAT students may qualify for education assistance through this program. To learn more, visit the U.S. Department of Labor website.
- Tennessee Opportunity Programs, Inc.: The mission of Tennessee Opportunity Programs is to empower migrant and seasonal farm workers and other disadvantaged Tennesseans to achieve economic self-sufficiency by providing services that address their individual needs. - American Indian Center Employment & Training Program: The center provides career training, job search and placement services to American Indian in Tennessee. For more information call Turia Enloe at 1-800-640-2056
- Hearts and Hands Scholarship Fund: The Hearts and Hands Scholarship Fund was chartered in December 1994. Established as a non-profit by the State of Tennessee in accordance with Section 501(c)(3), it operates with a seven member board. The purpose of the board is to raise money for scholarships to assist deserving local students further their education.
