Stories @ TCAT

Tennessee College of Applied Technology Knoxville recognized its faculty, staff, and student veterans on November 10th during a luncheon. TCAT Knoxville started the tradition several years ago honoring those who have served in our Armed Forces. TCAT Knoxville has more than 50 veterans on campus to date. Each year local vendors are asked to participate by donating gifts of food or gift cards to be provided to the veterans. This year's vendors who participated included the following: Famous Dave's, Olive Garden – West Hills Mall, O’Charley’s , and Red Lobster – Merchants Drive.

During the luncheon, staff and students engaged the group with a short program thanking them for their service. The program included a prayer by MIke Gallimore (veteran), singing of the Star Spangled Banner by Romesha Evans (student), short video presentation recognizing each veteran by name, remarks from the staff and student government members, and the veterans introducing themselves by stating their branch of service and other interesting facts. Also, the Student Government Association members and other volunteering students assisted as the wait-staff by assisting with serving food.

Tennessee College of Applied Technology Knoxville faculty, staff and students  would like to thank all veterans who have served our country.
