Job Summary
Assist the Instructor in the daily operations of the program. To provide quality instruction in lab areas for student learning and to maintain a positive learning environment. Ensure the operation of lab equipment and technical classroom support of faculty and students in a safe and productive environment.

Required Qualifications
- Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Post-secondary training in Pipefitting and Plumbing or a related field.
- Have a minimum of three years experience as a Journeyman Pipefitter/Plumber
- Committed to remain current in the pipefitting field.
Preferred Qualifications
- NCCER Certified Pipe Fitter
- Associate degree preferred
Responsibilities
- The candidate is responsible for assisting the instructor and supplementing all phases of the program to include practical instruction in the curriculum.
- Must monitor and evaluate student progress; accurately maintain program and student records.
- Work in cooperation with TCAT Knoxville Instructor of Pipefitting & Plumbing Technology to provide an optimum training experience.
- Must assist in maintaining an active advisory committee and communicate with business and industry on a regular basis.
- Assist the Instructor with student record-keeping, recruitment, placement, and follow-up.
- Continue personal training and professional development to stay abreast of changes in the industry.
- Ensure that all activities are conducted within the established guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner and with minimal supervision.
- Contributes to a safe educational and working environment by participating in all drills and training and being prepared to act should a health or safety emergency occur.
- Assist students with the use of lab equipment and facilities.
- Perform assigned special projects or assignments based on unique laboratory needs.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies and materials.
- Assist in meeting accreditation requirements.
