Students who apply for this program may be eligible for Financial Aid for Program's tuition. Students enrolled in this Tennessee Department of Health approved Nursing Aide program will receive the education to provide direct care to patients. The students who successfully complete the 120 hour program (18 class days from 8 am - 3 pm Monday thru Friday) will be eligible to take the state certification examination to become Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA). Employment opportunities include: Assisted Living, Home Health, Long-Term Care Facilities, Hospitals, Clinics, Physician's offices and Hospice. The student will receive a certificate for successful completion of an American Heart Association BLS for Providers course as a part of the Nursing Aide curiculum.

Steps to Enroll:
To enroll in the Nursing Assistant course you will need to bring $449 in tuition and fill out a registration card. ALL applicants must also provide the following to Ms. Yvonne Blair by the second week of class:
- A background check from TrueScreen. The Background check can NOT come from the Police Department!
- A ten panel urine drug screen from any laboratory, physician’s office or clinic.
- A physical Examination.
- An immunization record showing proof of antibody titer from a health care provider. The immunizations necessary are as follows: Measles, mumps, ruella or positive titer, Hepatitis series (series may be started, compoleted or declined), Tuberculin skin test or chest x-ray with negative results (mandatory yearly requirement), 2 varicella vaccines or documented history of the disease (mandatory), and seasonal flu vaccine (mandatory annual requirement each year during October).
You must register in person and registration is first come, first serve. The total estimated program cost will be around $868 and will include books, supplies, tuition, uniforms, and your state board exam.
Applicants cannot be on the Abuse Registry. This includes but is not limited to theft and abuse.
Applicant must be at least 18 years of age to enroll in this class.
