Work Description: Supports the Engineering staff by updating drawings, gathering data, and inspecting facilities in the field.
May also perform duties such as, assisting with designs and reviews for Engineering projects. Projects will include gas distribution main designs and support of gas maintenance programs. Utilize Microstation to produce various drawings, maps, and other design tools.
Develops tables and maps using data from a geographic information system (GIS). Utilizes both Excel and Access to query specific data. Assists with utility records research, data validation, and problem resolution. Must be flexible in performing daily tasks and accepting additional duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
• Must have and maintain full-time student status
• Have and maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher
• Have and maintain a valid driver's license
• Must be able to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 7:00am – 5:00pm
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Must possess skills in MS Office applications, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Physical Demands: Primarily sedentary work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently-to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve
bending, stooping, reaching, walking or standing for brief periods of time. May also require walking up to five miles per day over rough and/or hilly terrain when assisting with field inspections. Requires above normal mental and visual alertness quite frequently. Position may require ability to: drive vehicles and work in all types of weather, with exposure to equipment and machine noise, dirt and traffic.
Preferred Qualifications
• Completion of some sophomore and/or junior-level Engineering course work
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Desire to work in gas distribution field
• Experience with using MS Office, Microstation, AutoCad, and/or Geographical Information Systems (Intergraph and/or ESRI)
