About
The Medical Office Information Technology program prepares students to enter healthcare facilities such as hospitals, and doctor, dental, or chiropractic offices in a variety of positions. The program prepares students to be multi-skilled with knowledge of insurance codes for diagnoses and procedures, medical billing practices demonstrated with the Medisoft software, data entry for electronic health records and medical office administration skills. The program is self-paced with a blend of classroom theory and hands-on computer laboratory training that enables students to meet the requirements of entry-level medical information management. At the end of the four-month training in the classroom, students progress to a five-week, 200 hour externship where they demonstrate their ability to work in a medical environment.
*Students must be 18 years old by the start of the class.
*Externship will be 8-hour days. The hours worked will vary depending on the facility.
Class Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 2:30 PM
