Dual Enrollment Counselor (Part-time Temporary, 1 Year Grant Funded)

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Knoxville is accepting applications for the position of Dual Enrollment Counselor to be located at the main campus in Knoxville.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
  • Prior secondary or post-secondary teaching and/or guidance is considered a plus for the job
  • Marketing skills and experience would also be helpful in this position
  • Public speaking skills
  • Applicant must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to relate to a diverse faculty, staff, and student population
  • Knowledge about Tennessee Promise


General Duties:

  • Develop dual enrollment opportunities for high school students in the TCAT Knoxville service area
  • Responsible for enrolling high school applicants who are interested in dual enrollment at TCAT Knoxville
  • Assist potential secondary students in the proper selection of course of training
  • Assist in student recruitment retention and placement initiatives
  • Provide orientation to prospective students
  • Perform presentations to area high schools and community organizations
  • Provide counseling assistance to current students
  • Administer tests as needed
  • Maintain proper student records
  • Compile various reports of tasks completed
  • General office duties
  • Develop and maintain work-based learning opportunities for high school dual enrollment students
  • Implement a Worker Ethics program with dual enrolled high school students
  • Attend Tennessee Promise meetings in the region


The Dual Enrollment Counselor will work a flexible schedule in order to accommodate the high  school students.
