Job Summary
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Knoxville is accepting applications for the position of a day, full time Associate Instructor of Industrial Maintenance/Mechatronics to be located at TCAT Knoxville Ruth and Steve West Workforce Development Center in Blount County. This position and will work 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm with a thirty-minute lunch. The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Knoxville is a post-secondary technical college accredited by the Council on Occupational Education.
POSITION SUMMARY: To provide quality instruction for student learning and to maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom.

- Graduate from an Industrial Maintenance/Mechatronics diploma program, or have an Associate’s degree in an industrial maintenance or mechatronics related field

Responsibilities
Instruction: Facilitate the classroom instructional process: evaluate and monitor student progress; assign grades; provide academic assistance to students; maintain attendance and grade records; counsel and advise students on career goals; work to retain students; maintain required classroom and office hours. - (Essential)
Course and Curriculum Development: Select texts, equipment, supplies, and other learning resources; participate in the purchase of needed program supplies and equipment; develop instructional materials; create and revise courses and/or curricula as needed; maintain updated course syllabi; - (Essential)
Professional Growth: Remain current within instructional field and technologies; acquire, maintain, and apply knowledge of current instructional methodologies and materials; attend scheduled college and division professional development and in-service activities; support related professional organizations; participate in the annual faculty evaluation process. - (Essential)
Service to Students: Comply with FERPA laws; participate in advising, recruitment, admissions, and orientation of potential students; assist students with job placement upon graduation; support student activities including SkillsUSA and NTHS. - (Essential)
Service to the College and Community: Assist in the recruitment and selection of college personnel as assigned; participate in accreditation, assessment, and performance funding processes; support and participate in the College’s decision-making processes; provide input and assistance with budgets; attend convocation and commencement exercises and participate in mandatory college programs; develop and maintain positive and cooperative relationships with colleagues; maintain an active program advisory committee; complete the annual Council on Occupational Education (COE) report for the program. - (Essential)
